Our cashmere comes from one region, Alashan in northwestern Inner Mongolia, where the goats grow the finest, longest undercoat. We hold ours to 15.7 microns or finer, because that is the softness cashmere is known for. This sweater vest is an easy layer for fall: wear it over a crisp white shirt with the collar out, over a fine turtleneck, or on its own with a cardigan on top. The V-neck and 3-ply cables give it a classic look for the office or the weekend.

A sleeveless V-neck vest made for layering. If you're between sizes, size up for an easier fit, especially if you plan to wear it over a shirt. Sizes run Small to X-Large.

Care

FAQ

What does micron mean, and why does it matter?

Micron measures how thick each fiber is. The finer the fiber, the softer it feels. US law caps cashmere at 19 microns on average, and most sweaters sold today fall between 16.5 and 19. Ours are 15.7 microns or finer, and every fiber lot is tested.

Will it itch?

Itch comes from coarse fibers pressing on the skin. At 15.7 microns or finer there are far fewer of them, so most people wear it straight on skin. Very sensitive skin may still notice it at the neck, and a thin layer underneath solves that.

Will it pill?

All natural fibers pill a little where they rub. Long 34 to 36 mm fibers have fewer loose ends, so pilling stays light and settles after the first few wears. A cashmere comb removes it in a minute.

How do I choose my size?

Choose your usual size, and think about what you will wear under it. If you're between sizes, size up for an easier fit.

What do I wear under a sweater vest?

A collared shirt, a thin turtleneck or a fitted long-sleeve tee. In warmer weather it can be worn on its own.

Will it shrink or stretch?

Not with the right care. Hand wash cold, press out the water, and dry it flat. Don't hang it wet.
