A Better Travel Layer: The Style 1573 Cashmere Zip Hoodie
Style 1573 · Travel, simplified
One polished layer for the airport, the cabin and the cool evening after you arrive.
Is a cashmere zip hoodie good for travel? It can be a useful midlayer when you want the comfort of a hoodie without an overtly sporty look. Style 1573 adds a two-way zipper, hood and pockets, then layers under a coat when wind or rain calls for a shell.
Comfort that adjusts
A layer that changes with the day.
Travel rarely holds one temperature. There is the warm terminal, the cool cabin, the walk outside and the restaurant at the end of it.
The full zipper lets you vent without taking the sweater off. The second zipper pull opens from the hem, creating more room at the hips when you sit, drive or settle into a flight. The hood and kangaroo pockets add familiar ease without turning the outfit into activewear.
Wear it zipped over a T-shirt, open over a simple base layer or under a coat on a colder morning.

The garment, clearly
Designed as a midlayer. Not a weather shell.
Style 1573 is a 100% cashmere, plain-knit hoodie with a slim, true-to-size fit. The current specification lists fibers averaging 15.7 microns or finer and 34–36 mm in length. It comes in sizes XS through XL.
Choose your usual size for the intended close fit. If you are between sizes—or want to wear it over a long-sleeve top—size up. Comparing the garment measurements on the product page with a sweater you already like is more reliable than guessing.
This is not listed as waterproof or windproof. In exposed weather, treat it as the soft middle layer and add a raincoat, trench or technical shell over it. That distinction matters: cashmere provides comfort; your outer layer handles the elements.
Pack with care
Fold it. Protect the zipper. Give it room.
Start with a clean, completely dry hoodie. Close the zipper, lay the sleeves across the body and fold the sweater without pulling the knit out of shape. Place it in a smooth packing cube or a clean section of the case, away from hook-and-loop fasteners and sharp hardware.
During the trip, reduce repeated rubbing from rough backpack straps, seat belts and textured bags. Friction can create surface pills on any soft natural-fiber knit. If they appear, do not pull them. Let the garment rest and use a cashmere comb gently on a dry, flat surface.
For longer storage after the trip, clean the sweater, let it dry fully and keep it folded. Our cashmere storage guide explains the full routine.
Care after the journey
Wash only when it needs it.
Follow the sewn-in label on your own garment first. Style 1573 may be hand washed cold with a gentle wool or cashmere wash, or professionally dry cleaned.
Before hand washing, close the zipper. Press the water through gently—do not scrub, twist or wring. Support the whole garment when lifting it, press out water, roll it in a clean towel and reshape it to dry flat away from direct heat. Do not put it in a tumble dryer.

Style 1573 travel questions
Will the cashmere hoodie itch?
The product specification lists an average fiber diameter of 15.7 microns or finer, which reduces the presence of coarse fibers. Sensation is still personal. If your skin is very reactive, test the sweater briefly and wear a thin cotton or silk layer underneath. Our cashmere comfort guide explains what to look for.
Will it pill under a backpack?
Some pilling can occur wherever soft fibers rub repeatedly. Backpack straps, crossbody straps and seat belts are common friction points. Carry the bag a little looser when practical, alternate contact points and remove settled pills gently rather than pulling them.
Is it warm enough to replace a coat?
It is intended as a warm midlayer for cool conditions, not a windproof or waterproof coat. Use it alone indoors and in mild weather; add a suitable outer shell when conditions call for one.
How should I choose a travel-friendly fit?
Choose your usual size for a close, true-to-size fit. Size up if you are between sizes or plan to layer it over a long-sleeve top. Check the actual chest, length, sleeve and shoulder measurements on the product page before ordering.
Can I hang it in a hotel closet?
For short airing, drape it over a clean chair back or lay it flat. For storage, fold it. A hanger can stretch a soft knit at the shoulders, especially when the garment is damp.
